SCRA benefits can be denied for one of four reasons:
1. Your military service started prior to incurring debt.
a. Your active duty has to start after you signed your mortgage note to qualify for SCRA protection.
2. Your service status is no longer active and it has been 12 months since your military service ended.
a. SCRA benefits extend only through active duty as well as 12 months after your active duty has ended.
3. Benefits not applicable to branch of service.
a. In some cases, your branch or status of service may not be covered under the SCRA.
4. For the interest rate protection, we did not receive record of your military service orders.
a. For the interest rate protection, if you are on active duty or within 180 days of your active duty ending, you can still qualify for protection. Please send us a copy of your military orders.
If you are denied benefits, you will receive a letter confirming exactly why you were denied. If you believe this is incorrect and would like to dispute the denial, please send a copy of your military service orders to:
